What Finora knows about you: nothing.

Overview

Finora is built with no backend and no server. There is no company database of Finora users, because there is no database at all outside of your own phone. This page describes, plainly, what that means in practice.

What Finora stores, and where

Everything you enter — transactions, categories, budgets, bills, reminder settings, receipt/bill photos, and your currency preference — is saved in a single encrypted SQLite database (SQLCipher) that lives only in Finora's private app storage on your device.

• The encryption key is generated on first launch and stored in your device's secure keystore/keychain — the same mechanism used for passwords and payment credentials at the OS level. You never see or enter this key.
• This data is never transmitted to us, to advertisers, or to any third party. We don't have a copy, and we can't retrieve one for you if it's lost — see Backups.

What Finora doesn't do

• No accounts. There's no sign-up, no login, no email address collected to use the app.
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We don't know how many people use Finora, which screens they open, or how often it crashes.
• No ads or ad networks. Nothing in Finora profiles you for advertising, because nothing in Finora shows ads.
• No selling or sharing of data. There's no data collected from you to sell or share in the first place.

The one network request Finora makes

Once per day at most, on launch, Finora checks a static version file to see whether an update is available. That request contains no personal information, no financial data, and no device identifier tied to you — it's the same request anyone running Finora would make. If you're offline, this check silently fails and the app works exactly as normal.

Exporting & sharing your data

Finora can generate CSV or PDF reports and full encrypted backups. These files are created locally on your device. Finora itself never uploads or transmits them anywhere — if you choose to share an export (by email, cloud storage, messaging, etc.), that's a deliberate action you take through your device's own share sheet, not something Finora does on your behalf.

Backups

Since there's no server, a manual backup is the only way to recover your data if you lose or replace your device. A backup is a single AES-256 encrypted file containing your transactions, budgets, categories, settings, and receipt photos, protected by a password you set.

Permissions Finora asks for

• Notifications — requested the first time you save a bill with reminders turned on, so Finora can alert you before it's due. Used only for bill reminders.
• Photos — used only when you choose to attach a receipt or bill photo. Finora doesn't browse your photo library on its own.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Finora deletes its encrypted database and every local file with it. Because nothing is copied off-device, there's no separate "delete my account" request to make elsewhere — uninstalling is the deletion. Settings also includes an in-app "Clear All Data" option if you'd rather start fresh without uninstalling.

Children's privacy

Finora isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — it doesn't collect information at all. There's simply nothing gathered to be concerned about.

Changes to this policy

If what Finora does ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. Given Finora's local-only architecture, we don't expect that to happen often.
